HomeTours & SafarisCommunity & Wildlife Luxury Safari: Kruger & the Kalahari

Nine days in two South African landscapes. The first four nights are at Saseka in Thornybush, a private reserve beside Kruger. Then a flight via Johannesburg to Tswalu, the largest private reserve in the country, for four nights.
At Saseka one morning is a community visit in a nearby village: mat weaving, a taste of the local food, school projects, and a meeting with a traditional healer if the visit is running that day. At Tswalu the plan includes drives, a dune walk, San rock art, a stop at the clinic and the preschool, and an introduction to the foundation’s research. A sleep-out under the Kalahari sky closes the stay.

The reserve is about 14,000 hectares beside Kruger. Four nights at Saseka, set above a riverbed, with drives for the Big Five. On the second day, a morning at Nourish Eco Village: Shangaan food, mat weaving, the education projects, and a traditional healer when that visit is available.
