It’s a place where dhows sail gracefully across turquoise lagoons and where local culture, marine biodiversity, and barefoot relaxation come together.

Where to Explore on Wasini Island
The island stretches roughly 7 km long, best explored by foot or local boat. The north side faces Shimoni Channel, with views of the mainland and passing dhows. The southern side borders the protected waters of Kisite Marine Park, where snorkeling and diving trips depart daily. Visit the boardwalk, dine at local seafood restaurants overlooking the ocean, and spend the day soaking in island rhythms.

Best Time to Visit Wasini Island
Wasini is warm year-round with tropical ocean breezes. The best months to visit are December–March and July–October, when the ocean is calm and visibility for snorkeling is excellent. During these periods, dolphin sightings are frequent and the skies are clear.
April to June sees occasional rain, but this is also the quietest and most authentic time for slow travel and photography.
